Al Sharpton denounced it as a racist insult aimed at President Barack Obama, the Post’s first response was “It was meant to mock an ineptly written federal stimulus bill. Period.” Not enough said Rev. Sharpton. New York Post Chairman Rupert Murdoch apologized Tuesday (2/24/09) saying he wanted to “personally apologize to any reader who felt offended, and even insulted.” He then said the Post will work to be more sensitive.
“Mr. Murdoch’s apology comes only after almost a week of tens of thousands of expressions of outrage and disgust from people across the country,” NAACP President Benjamin Todd Jealous said in a statement. “The offenders are still on staff and there are no measures being taken to increase diversity in its newsroom.”

When will we stop looking at everything through racial glasses?

Gerald Ford: 1913-2006

Monday, January 1st, 2007

He restored faith in government after the Watergate scandal; dodged two attempts on his life and served the people of this great country for most of his life. President Ford passed December 26 at age 93. President from August 1974 to January 1977, he guided our country after the Watergate scandal that forced President Richard Nixon from office and tested the mettle of our democracy. His pardon of Nixon still fresh in the minds of many americans will undoubtedly be recognized as one of the most selfless acts of an American President in the annuals of history. It cost him any hope of election to the office he held, but ended what could have been a damaging blow to our democracy.
